07/09/2022 - Box HELIOG Atelier Fanny Boucher

Entering Fanny Boucher’s workshop is for me like entering my neighborhood bakery to buy myself a plain meringue with my pocket money, at the age when my father introduced me to the principles of film development in the cellar of our building converted into a laboratory, bathed in inactinic light and the strong smell of the developer: the hanging prints that draw the eye, the scent of ink that captivates, the machines that impress, the gesture that sublimates.

I am very proud to have the privilege of collaborating with Héliog studio for the promotion of the projects developed as part of the support of the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation, following the award in 2020 of the prestigious Liliane Bettencourt Prize for the Intelligence of the hand, Exceptional talent category, for the work Arboris, photogravure wall composition two meters high.

Here, therefore, is the presentation of a box containing 4 samples of photogravure for interior decoration and design.

Thanks to Isabelle de Lasteyrie from the Agence d’Isabelle at the origin of this collaboration.

20/01/2021 - Exhibition “Fil du temps, Connexions textiles” in Montreuil

Initially imagined and shown at the Maison de l’Artisanat et des Métiers d’Arts in Marseille south of France in early 2019, see specific articles in the news section for the concerned period, the exhibition “Fil du temps, Connexions textiles” proposed by Ysabel de Maisonneuve is now presented at the Tignous Contemporary Art Center in an expanded version, nourished by more recent pieces by artists and always echoing the exceptional collection of popular art by Tuulikki Chompré.
I am very happy to be associated with it, so much this universe touches me.

22/05/2019 - Rose Saneuil’s miniature marquetry

More than 200 pieces of a dozen different materials assembled on a disc no larger than a watch dial: this is the incredible result of the work of the French creator in marquetry Rose Saneuil to discover at the trade show Revelations which is held at the Grand Palais in Paris from 23 to 26 May 2019.

The difficulty in shooting these miniature marquetries was in highlighting the diversity of materials that react very singularly to the light. The format of the animated image was then imposed at the expense of the still image that reached its limits here.

These mini videos were created by the assembly of several dozens of high-definition digital photographs, produced as part of a partnership with Packshot Creator, well described in this article.

Or when the image is serving the product.

16/10/2018 - IIM Photography Workshop

As usual, it was a real pleasure to welcome a group of students of IIM – Institute of Internet and Multimedia for a Photography workshop, or how to learn the basics of photography in one week.

At a time when more than half of these students are brought, as part of their learning process, to publish content on social networks, some fundamental notions of photography were greatly appreciated. Intensive program created to measure, combining theory and practice, to respond to many situations (reportage, portrait, still life, packshot, story telling, …) using the technique (camera settings, shooting techniques, editing, metadata, digital workflow, online publishing, …).

15/09/2016 - Forest of Resonating Lamps – One Stroke

Video captation and photography of the installation “Forest of Resonating Lamps – One stroke” presented by TeamLab at the fair Maison et Objet Paris at Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre, France, from September 2nd to September 6th, 2016.

When a person stands still at close range to a lamp, it shines brightly and emits a color that resonates out. The light of this lamp becomes the starting point, and it spreads to the two nearest lamps. The light from the lamps transmits the same color to other lamps, one after another, spreading out continuously. The light transmitted from the lamp always resonates out at a bright light once, passing between close lamps, till all lamps have shone brightly once, and then returns to the first lamp. The light of the lamp in response to human interaction, divides in two, becomes one optical line through all lamps respectively, finally, meeting at the first lamp that became the starting point.
